FX's Far Cry TV Series: A New Anthology Adventure (2026)

Get ready for an epic adventure as FX brings to life the iconic Far Cry series!

Unleashing the Power of Far Cry

FX has officially greenlit a TV series based on Ubisoft's renowned Far Cry franchise. Each season will be an anthology, much like the games, offering fresh settings and characters. The show will be available on Hulu in the US and Disney+ globally, promising an immersive experience for fans worldwide.

A Dream Team of Producers

The project is led by two industry heavyweights: Rob Mac, creator of the hilarious It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and executive producer of the Emmy-winning Welcome to Wrexham, and Noah Hawley, creator of the Emmy-winning anthology series Fargo and Alien: Earth. Mac will also star in the series, adding an extra layer of excitement.

Nick Grad, President of FX Entertainment, expressed their enthusiasm, saying, "We're thrilled to partner with these talented producers for another six series and 32 seasons. Their unique vision will undoubtedly bring this beloved property to life in a way that's both captivating and wildly entertaining."

A Generous Collaboration

Mac and Hawley shared their gratitude for Ubisoft's trust, with Mac stating, "Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, allowing us to explore their iconic video-game world. It's a dream come true to work alongside Noah, and I'm grateful for the unwavering support from my FX family."

Hawley added, "Far Cry is an anthology, much like Fargo, allowing us to explore different variations on a theme. Creating a dynamic action show that evolves annually while delving into the complexities of humanity is an exciting challenge."

Executive Producers and Production Team

The series will be executive produced by Rob Mac, Noah Hawley, Emilia Serrano (26 Keys), Nick Frenkel (3 Arts), Jackie Cohn (More Better Productions), John Campisi, and Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill (Ubisoft Film & Television). FX Productions will handle the production.

And here's where it gets controversial... With such a diverse creative team, how will they balance the action-packed gameplay with the narrative depth of the Far Cry universe? Will they stay true to the games' themes, or take the series in a bold new direction?

What are your thoughts? Do you think this TV adaptation will capture the essence of Far Cry? Let us know in the comments!
