Instead of the Pixel Launcher’s elegant search, users are being redirected to the Google app’s device search—a fullscreen interface that feels more at home on other Android devices or when using the Google app’s homescreen widget. While it does offer app search, it lacks key features like Contacts lookup and other integrations that Pixel users have come to rely on. And this is the part most people miss: this change isn’t just a minor inconvenience—it’s a step backward in terms of user experience.
