Snowfest in The Hague Brings a True Winter Vibe to the City
Snowfest The Hague is nearly here, ready to infuse the city with real winter magic from December 19–21, just in time for Christmas. Set right in the heart of The Hague and opposite Den Haag Centraal station, the event centers on the final stop of the 2025 Rock A Rail Ski & Snowboard Tour, bringing together many familiar faces from across the circuit. In addition to the competitions, the Snowfest Village beside the main setup showcases the full spectrum of winter sports, with multiple activity stations available to try—completely free of charge.
Final Push for the Rock A Rail Ski & Snowboard Tour 2025: The grand finale of the Rock A Rail Tour traditionally lands in The Hague, the birthplace of Rock A Rail. What started in 2011 as a modest rail jam with a loyal following has evolved into a European tour. The season began in early October at the Hintertux Park Opening, then moved to Thun for the Freestyle Roots Festival a week later. By late November, momentum picked up with a third stop in Snowfest Innsbruck, followed by the Baltic premiere in Riga (LAT) the week after. Now anticipation is building for the big finale in The Hague, where many familiar competitors from prior stops are returning to vie for glory.
Snowboard Line-Up: In the women’s division, Anne-Sophie Lechon (Belgium) and Mia Langridge (Great Britain) will headline, each bringing three podium finishes this season. Local favorite Rachida Aouladis is also expected to draw strong home support; she last won The Hague in 2020. Among the men, Moritz Amsüss (Austria), who won the Innsbruck stop, stands as a top contender. Dutch fans will especially cheer for homegrown favorites Senna van Drunen, who finished third last year, and Casper Holtzapfel, promising an electric atmosphere.
Ski Line-Up: The ski field is led by Tyler Nicholls-Stubbington (Ireland), winner of the Thun stop, with challengers like Juho Saatamoinen (Finland) already making waves in Hintertux. In the women’s ski division, Alaïs Develay (France) and Ellen Damsgaard (Denmark) have both claimed tour stop victories this fall. They and many other riders will deliver an exhilarating trick display at the tour’s final stop.
Snowfest Village: The Snowfest Village keeps expanding and remains central to this year’s event. It features a broad array of activities for all ages and ample opportunities to explore. Local clubs and associations will be present, and attendees can try various winter sports right on site. Sunday is especially family-friendly with Kidsday from 11:00–17:00, when children can give skiing, biathlon, snowboarding, sledding, and more a try. The Snowfest Village truly becomes a winter wonderland for young explorers. Sunday also includes a stop on the World Rookie Street Tour, giving local rising stars a chance to shine on the Rock A Rail setup.
A Winter Weekend in The Hague: If you want to soak up the holiday mood, Snowfest The Hague pairs beautifully with a stroll to the Royal Christmas Fair on Lange Voorhout. A shuttle boat operated by Willemsvaart runs between the two venues for just €2 per person.
