Young Vaibhav Suryavanshi, at just 14, showed the world that age is just a number when he fearlessly took on a Pakistani bowler in a high-stakes match! This Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025 encounter between India A and Pakistan A was more than just a game; it was a display of youthful grit and competitive fire.
Vaibhav, a rising star from Samastipur, Bihar, known for his aggressive batting, wasn't intimidated. Fresh from a stunning 144-run performance off just 42 balls against the UAE, he immediately signaled his intentions by hitting a boundary off the first ball against Pakistan.
The tension escalated quickly. A verbal exchange began between Suryavanshi and Pakistan's Ubaid Shah. Shah's stares seemed to taunt the young batter when he missed a shot. But here's where it gets controversial... Suryavanshi didn't back down. After missing an inside-out shot, he boldly told Shah to focus on his bowling, captured perfectly by the stump mic.
"Ball daal na, ball daal. (Bowl the ball, just bowl the ball)," Suryavanshi was heard saying.
And what happened next? On the very next delivery, Suryavanshi smashed a boundary, earning a four! He then celebrated with his opening partner, Priyansh Arya. The Pakistani bowler was left speechless as Suryavanshi had the last laugh.
However, this is not a complete victory. Despite Suryavanshi's spirited 45-run knock, India A's total of 136 wasn't enough. India collapsed after being 79/1, losing their remaining wickets for a mere 45 runs. Pakistan easily chased down the target, winning by eight wickets with 40 balls to spare. Maaz Sadaqat's impressive 79 runs off 47 balls led Pakistan to victory.
This raises a question: Was Suryavanshi's aggressive approach a turning point, or did it inadvertently disrupt the team's strategy? What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments below! India A will play against Oman on Tuesday, November 18, at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha.
